NOTIFICATION FOR DEPOSITORS OF BANKA SRPSKE A.D. BANJA LUKA – in bankruptcy ABOUT EXPIRATION OF THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING CLAIMS FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF INSURED DEPOSITS BY THE DEPOSIT INSURANCE AGENCY OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
The depositors of Banka Srpske a a.d. Banja Luka – in bankruptcy are herewith informed that after the Banking Agency of Republika Srpska revoked operating license from the Bank on 11th of May 2016, the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has reimbursed insured deposits for most of the depositors whose deposits were covered.
Provision of Article 16, paragraph 2 of the Law on Deposit Insurance in the Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina stipulates that claims for payment of insured deposits shall be received within 5 years from the date of revocation of the Member Bank’s operating license, which means that such claims will not be accepted from 12th of May 2021.
Therefore, depositors whose insured deposits up to BAM 50,000 are still not reimbursed are invited to submit their claims by May 11th, 2021.
The payment is made through the Agent Bank – UniCredit Bank a.d. Banja Luka at the locations of its branches.
As you have already been informed, in order to pay out insured deposit effectively, you need to have proof of ownership (savings book, Contract on insurance, a-vista or other bank account card, etc.), as well as an identification document (ID, passport). The application for payment of the insured deposit as well as the statement on subrogation – transfer of receivables will be submitted to you at the counter desks of the Agent Bank.
If you have authorized a person to dispose of a deposit, you need to make a new power of attorney stating that it relates to the disposal of an insured deposit with UniCredit Bank a.d. Banja Luka.
Payment will be made at the depositor’s choice in cash, by transferring funds to the Agent bank or other bank account.
Payment to legal entities will be made by transferring funds to a transaction account which the legal entity indicates in the claim Request.
After 11th of May 2021, the right of depositors whose deposits were insured up to BAM 50,000 to claim them from the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will cease and will be settled in the same manner as depositors whose deposits exceeded BAM 50,000 in bankruptcy proceedings over Banka Srpske a.d. Banja Luka, if they are credited with the claims in these proceedings.
