In setting up the deposit insurance system in Bosnia and Herzegovina and establishing the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, technical assistance and initial capital contribution for the Deposit Insurance Fund were provided by the governments of the United States and Federal Republic of Germany through their agencies, the USAID and KfW. Through technical cooperation, in addition to USAID, the German development agency GTZ has made a substantial contribution to the establishment of a deposit insurance system.
The European Commission provided donor funds to pay the front-end fee for the Stand-by financing package with the EBRD during 2010.
The Agency had technical assistance from the USAID PARE project in the period from 2008 to 2013 to support the Agency’s development programs.
Since 2017, the Agency has been using technical assistance and donor funds from the USAID FINRA project for the needs of the Agency’s development, harmonization with the standards from the EU Directive on effective deposit insurance systems and international best practices.
